Dinner Diced Privacy Policy

Overview

Dinner Diced is a food decision app that helps users choose between home-cooked meal ideas and takeaway options. The app does not require an account and does not ask users to provide a name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, camera access, microphone access, or payment information.

Information We Collect

Dinner Diced does not require an account. The app stores limited information locally on your device, including favorites, roll history, recipe names and video links you save in My Recipes, reminder and sound settings, consent choices, and cached purchase access. My Recipes information, favorites, roll history, and those settings are not sent to Dinner Diced.

Firebase Crashlytics is enabled in production releases when Firebase is configured. It may automatically collect crash stack traces, relevant application state, device metadata, a Crashlytics installation UUID, and related Firebase installation and session information so technical problems can be diagnosed.

Optional Firebase Analytics is disabled until you enable anonymous usage analytics in Settings and can be disabled again at any time. When enabled, it records limited app interactions such as selected mode and dice size, category counts, result views, favorites, and purchase-flow events. Dinner Diced does not deliberately include names, email addresses, complete URLs, or My Recipes content in analytics events.

Free users may receive non-personalised Google Mobile Ads. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect and share an IP address, which can be used to estimate approximate location; app and ad interactions; diagnostic information; App Set ID; and other device or account identifiers permitted by the platform. Dinner Diced removes the Android Advertising ID permission, but non-personalised ads can still use permitted identifiers or local storage for frequency capping, aggregated reporting, analytics, and fraud prevention.

How Information Is Used

Locally stored information is used to remember favorites, recent rolls, saved recipe links, settings, reminders, and purchase access. Crash and diagnostic information is used to maintain reliability and investigate failures. When you enable analytics, anonymous usage events are used to understand feature use and improve app design. Advertising data is used to deliver and measure Free-tier ads, limit repeated ads, and help prevent fraud and abuse.

Sharing of Information

Dinner Diced does not sell personal information. Google Mobile Ads collects and shares the advertising, interaction, diagnostic, network, and identifier information described above with Google and advertising-service participants for ad delivery, measurement, analytics, and fraud prevention. Firebase processes analytics, crash, installation, session, and remote-content request information as a service provider. Google may use subprocessors under its published privacy and service terms.

Dinner Diced Plus users are not shown ads after their entitlement is recognised. Dinner Diced Pro is not currently available.

Third-Party Services and External Links

Dinner Diced includes links that may open third-party services such as YouTube and TikTok for recipes and Uber Eats for takeaway searches. When you leave Dinner Diced and open a third-party service, that service may process information according to its own privacy policy and terms.

Optional purchases are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. Dinner Diced receives store product, purchase-status, and verification information, but does not receive or store payment-card details. When an HTTPS entitlement-verification service is configured, store-provided verification data may be sent to that service solely to validate and restore the purchased entitlement.

Remote recipe content, crash reporting, and optional analytics use Firebase services. Free-tier advertising uses Google Mobile Ads. You can read Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

Dinner Diced bundles its app fonts with each installation and disables runtime font fetching. The app does not connect to Google Fonts to load its typography while you use it.

Permissions

Dinner Diced uses internet access to load remote recipe metadata, display permitted thumbnails, show free-tier ads, open recipe and takeaway links, and verify purchases. Notification permission is requested only when you enable the daily reminder. The app does not request location, camera, photo library, microphone, contacts, calendar, SMS, or phone access.

Data Retention and Deletion

Favorites, roll history, saved recipe names and links, settings, and cached purchase access are stored locally on your device for as long as the app keeps them. Store purchases remain associated with your app store account and can be restored. You can remove personal recipe links inside My Recipes, or remove all local information by clearing the app's storage in your device settings or uninstalling the app.

Google, Firebase, app stores, and any configured purchase-verification service retain and delete information under their applicable service settings and privacy terms. Dinner Diced does not maintain a user account or a separate profile database.

Your Choices

You can enable or disable anonymous Firebase Analytics at any time in Dinner Diced Settings. Turning analytics off does not disable Crashlytics or the data needed to provide Free-tier ads. You can remove ads by purchasing Dinner Diced Plus, subject to successful store entitlement recognition.

Security

Dinner Diced limits the information it handles and uses HTTPS or service-provided encrypted transport for network services. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure.

Children

Dinner Diced is not directed to children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated when Dinner Diced features, service providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
